"Old School/New School" Chili Dogs
Born and bred in Detroit, Ben Axelrad has been eating the city's signature chili dog his entire life. "The 'Coney dog' is to Detroit what the Philly cheesesteak is to Philadelphia," explains the 32-year-old, who wrote in to Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine. When he moved to Los Angeles (and far away from his favorite dogs) he had to create his own version of the Coney dog to satisfy his hunger, but he's itching for a twist to spice up his recipe. "I've been experiencing the same taste for the last three years," Ben laments. "I'm looking for something to help make my chili dogs a little more unique."
