Leonard Maltin's Oscar® Guide
When a group of office workers asks Rachael for a strategy to win their Oscar® pool, she turns to film critic Leonard Maltin for the scoop on who he thinks will take home the statues this year!
Best Actress: "What a tough choice! Five really great performances. I'm sort of thinking Kate Winslet (The Reader). It's one of those performances when she transforms herself - she plays herself as an older woman. They're suckers for that."
Best Supporting Actress: "Viola Davis in Doubt. Viola Davis makes such an incredible impact in just one scene. She's also somebody who is not a household name and just delivers the goods, and all that's on her side."
Best Actor: "I'm tilting towards Sean Penn (Milk). He just disappears into that guy. You believe he's Harvey Milk. And of course they've given him an Oscar® before, they obviously admire and respect him. So, I'm going with Sean Penn."
Best Picture: "Logic says Curious Case of Benjamin Button but we all love Slumdog Millionaire, right? I think the Academy members do too."
