Guide to Style: Tall Fashion
Do you think you're too tall to wear trendy bright colors or high heels? Beauty expert Mary Alice Stephenson wants to show all the long and lanky women how! "I spent 15 years kind of hiding, slumping down," says the 6-foot-tall fashion stylist. "You just need to embrace it and I have a lot of tips today for you — it's how you wear it, not what you wear!"
Bright colors: While you may not want to dress in bright pink or orange from head to toe, you can wear pants or a shirt in a vibrant hue if you pair it with neutrals. "That's the key when you're tall is tone it down."
Accessories: "You can wear tons of jewelry," Mary Alice encourages. "When you're tall you can carry more."
High heels: "I always wear the shoes I want to wear, but if they're super tall I'll take them to a cobbler," she explains. "You can get the stilettos and for $10 you just get a little height shaved off."
Mini-dress: Pick dresses with a hemline 2 to 3 inches above your knee so the proportion with your entire body is balanced. Also, look for clothing cinched at the waist to enhance your hourglass shape.
