Etiquette Emergency for Bad-Mannered Kids
Watch how Linda Bibalo, a manners expert, helps turn dinnertime into a more civilized affair for one household. She offers these additional tips, which many people seem to forget:
When you go the restroom, place your napkin on your seat - not on the table.
At the end of your meal, put your napkin back on the table on the left side of your plate.
Call a waiter or a waitress by their name. They wear a name badge for a reason.
Extend hospitality both inside and outside the home.
Food throwing is not acceptable.
Use your silverware, not your hands. (Did you know: When done eating, your fork and knife should rest on your plate at approximately the 4 o'clock position.)
Eat one piece of food at a time.
Don't drink when your mouth is full. Floating food particles in your glass is gross!
It's fine to wipe your nose with a tissue at the table, but head to the restroom when you need a good old blow!
