Using Household Products for Your Hair

Beer: "There is all kinds of information out there on the Internet about what's good for your hair" explains Kyan. "I say, stick with beer - it takes residue out of your hair so it really cleans the hair. But beer has hops and it has malt. It has protein in it so it fortifies the hair." Kyan suggests the simple process of shampooing your hair, then pour the beer through your hair and rinse it out.

Yogurt: In addition to cleansing and conditioning the hair, Kyan explains that plain yogurt is good for the scalp, too. "Leave it on for a couple of minutes and rinse out very well. It leaves your hair soft and shiny and really just malleable and beautiful."

Apple Cider Vinegar: Kyan suggests using this versatile household product for taking buildup and residue out of your hair. "So if you're using waxes and pastes in your hair when you style it, it will take all of those things out and leave it really super shiny."

Using Household Products for Your Face

Honey: "This pantry staple is useful for more than just sweetening up things around the kitchen. It can heal the skin, is full of antioxidants and has an anti-bacterial property. It is a great gentle cleanser."

Avocado: "Avocado has been used before in face masks because it is super moisturizing. Additionally, the oils in avocado even remove dirt."

Papaya: "This tropical fruit is full of enzymes and is great for skin," explains Kyan. "Use the peel to gently rub against the skin and it will exfoliate without being abrasive."
